Consultation Process

We will take the time to understand you and what is truly important to you.

This means that we will ask you a number of interesting and thought provoking questions so that we can help you to make good financial decisions and avoid bad ones.

We firstly learn more about the practical and emotional issues which affect our clients, as they go through different life transitions. We prepare customised choices and solutions designed to fit each client’s needs. These interrelated solutions can include retirement planning, investment management, estate planning & trusts and comprehensive tax planning, all brought together in one holistic plan.

We start with a discovery meeting, during which we gather information about you and identify your goals and aspirations. From this information, we develop a disciplined investment strategy that takes into account your personal circumstances, short and long term needs and time horizon.

Stage 1: Initial Meeting

We listen to you – we will seek to define and fully understand your needs, goals and current situation. Your dreams, aspirations and relationships will shape how we customise our advice.

Stage 2: Meeting Two

Once we get to know you and where you hope to be in the future, we will gather information about your existing financial arrangements and personal circumstances.

We will then perform a detailed analysis of your income and expenditure, incorporating a gap analysis thus allowing Fidelium to craft an investment plan to meet your goals. The plan will reflect your needs & objectives and risk tolerance, offering a comprehensive road-map for your financial future (providing benchmarks for tracking progress along the way). The plan will include the following:

  • Assessment of your long-term needs and objectives
  • Confirmation your risk tolerance and design of a bespoke portfolio for you
  • Agree relevant time horizons for your various objectives
  • Listing asset classes to be used and rate of return objectives
  • Description of how your capital will be allocated and the expected return
  • Establishment of a rebalancing policy

Assuming you are completely happy with our suggestions, and would like to proceed with our recommendations, we will then implement and administer the agreed course of action, keeping you informed throughout the process.  We will provide you with confirmation of all actions taken on your behalf, in writing, at each stage.

Stage 3: Ongoing Service

Like any plan, it is essential that what we have implemented remains relevant. An annual review gives us the opportunity to discuss both your existing arrangements as well as other steps or adjustments that may need to be taken accordingly. It also serves as an excellent method to gauge all aspects of performance within an investment portfolio.

We like to meet with our clients for an annual face to face meeting so we can understand any changes in your circumstances and adapt their financial plan accordingly.

We will help you to organise and understand your paperwork and answer any questions which arise.

We will regularly review the progress, contrasting your current situation with your investment road-map.

We will review your progress towards your goals, and determine if any significant changes have occurred that would alter those goals or needs. We stay flexible as one thing is certain, life moves forward with inevitable changes and surprises.

The Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate Tax or Trust planning.
